If you’re reading this right now, phenibut has probably piqued your interest (and that’s probably putting it lightly).
But before you get your feet too wet, we wanted to make sure you had a grasp of all practical aspects of using phenibut.
Hence this – the Ultimate Phenibut Dosage Guide!
And if you don’t know what the heck phenibut is at all, then you probably missed out on our
If so, we’d recommend spending a few minutes checking that out first.
Otherwise, let’s get right into it!
How much phenibut to take
This is the starting point for getting into phenibut so let’s get that out of way.
The generally accepted amount for a single dosage is:
750 to 1500mg
The reason for the range is simply because the typical dosage varies with the user.
For example, if you weigh more, then your dosage may need to be increased accordingly.
If you’re heavier you may need a larger dose. If you’re smaller, you may need a smaller one.
Or if you personally want a better high, then you may also choose to increase the dosage slightly.
If you are targeting experiencing the phenibut high in general, this is definitely the dosage to use.
And for the most part, this is the dosage you will use for all the many practical applications of phenibut as well.
There are some special cases – for example, when using phenibut to improve sleep, only 100 to 300mg should be used.
But just remember 750 to 1500mg (or about 1g) and you’ll be set for most cases.
Dosage for first time users
If it’s your first time using phenibut, start with 750mg, perhaps even a bit lower.
Note that it is not uncommon for people to report not feeling anything at all at 750mg.
So if that’s you, then definitely increase your dosage accordingly.
Again, for most people, a satisfying dosage will fall between 750 and 1500mg.
2 Golden Rules for Phenibut Dosage
As you can probably tell, the exact dosage you take is not set in stone.
Even if you know your “typical dosage”, that doesn’t mean you have to take that much every single time.
Having said that, here are two solid rules to always keep in mind for successful phenibut use:
- A typical dosage should be between 750 and 1500mg (varying from person to person).
- Do not consume more than 2000mg of phenibut in a 24-hour period.
If you read from other sites that going over 2000mg is doable, we recommend not listening to them.
And it’s not that what they’re saying is untrue.
But doing so is when the unpleasant side effects start to kick in.
Keep reading to see why it is important to dose properly (and therefore follow our two golden rules).
It’ll save you from a lot of headache in the future.
How to Take a Phenibut Dose
Phenibut is a powder that can be ingested in various ways. Here are the three most popular methods:
The Toss-and-Wash Method
If you are working with phenibut powder directly, then this is the fastest method.
- Measure out the dose of phenibut onto a piece of paper or your credit card.
- Toss the dose into the back of your mouth (be careful not to choke on it).
- Take a sip of water and gulp it all down at once.
- Drink more water to wash any residual phenibut down.
The Stir-and-Drink Method
This is a slightly more popular method that takes some extra steps to help you avoid the bitter taste of phenibut.
- Measure out the dose of phenibut and pour into a glass of water or other liquid of choice.
- Stir the liquid until it phenibut is mixed completely, just like you would do with a powdered drink mix.
- Drink the drink in its entirety.
The stir-and-drink method is the most popular way of taking phenibut.
As should be obvious, by replacing water with something sweeter like fruit juice, you can minimize the taste.
This is the most popular method hands-down, as it is quite convenient compared to dealing with phenibut in its powder form directly.
Ultimately, the choice is up to you, as long as the proper dosage of phenibut makes it into your digestive tract.
How long will my phenibut dosage typically last?
First off, it is important to note that it will take about 30 minutes before you start to feel the effects of phenibut.
This will give you an idea of when to take phenibut (i.e. 30 minutes before you want to start feeling it).
As a general guideline, before the effects start to wear off significantly, a typical dosage of phenibut will last:
However, the effects can easily last the rest of the day, to varying degrees.
This is because phenibut’s action on the GABA receptors can linger long after it’s been excreted from your kidney.
And obviously, taking over or under the typical dosage will vary the length accordingly.
Having said that, in general, you may start seeing diminishing returns after 5-6 hours.
You can always take another dose, but again, we strongly advise against taking more than 2000g of phenibut in a 24-hour period.
Why Should I Dose Phenibut Properly?
Here are three important reasons to dose properly.
Phenibut withdrawal is when you stop taking phenibut too quickly.
When withdrawal happens, you typically experience undesired physical symptoms like nausea, tremors, and restlessness.
Withdrawal can happen with other drugs as well.
For example, the caffeine in coffee: If you’re used to taking 3 cups a day, and then suddenly stop drinking, then you may experience a caffeine withdrawal.
Phenibut Tolerance is when you require larger and larger doses of a drug to get the same level of effects as the first time you took the drug.
This is not good because you’re effectively spending more to get the same high / effects, as time goes on.
Maintaining a consistent weekly and daily phenibut dosage can help to prevent a tolerance build-up.
Again, using coffee as an example: once you stop being diligent and start drinking more and more coffee, you become tolerant to the positive effects of coffee.
Overdosing on phenibut, while not as dangerous as other “hard drugs”, is still something that must be avoided as much as possible.
Fortunately, this is really easy to do.
If you follow the basic rules of phenibut dosage and take it responsibly, it’s extremely unlikely that you will overdose.
Typical Phenibut Dosing Schedule
For those who would like a more real world example of how phenibut can fit into your daily lives, I will explain just how I’ve scheduled phenibut to fit into my lifestyle over the past 7 years.
Note that because I keep my daily dosage amounts in check (I keep them around 1000 to 1500g), I do not have to worry too much about cycling.
I just make sure to take a day or two off each week and I’m good.
As you can see, phenibut can be worked into any schedule that you have.
And what’s really great is that you are always free to work phenibut in whenever you really need it for whatever reason.
